Minimal non-extensible precolorings and implicit-relations

چکیده
In this paper I study a variant of the general vertex coloring problem called precoloring. Specifically, I study graph precolorings, by developing new theory, for characterizing the minimal non-extensible precolorings. It is interesting per se that, for graphs of arbitrarily large chromatic number, the minimal number of colored vertices, in a nonextensible precoloring, remains constant; only two vertices u, v suffice. Here, the relation between such u, v is called an implicit-relation, distinguishing two cases: (i) implicit-edges where u, v are precolored with the same color and (ii) implicit-identities where u, v are precolored distinct. Four-coloring P6-free graphs. II. Finding an excellent precoloring
This is the second paper in a series of two. The goal of the series is to give a polynomial time algorithm for the 4-coloring problem and the 4-precoloring extension problem restricted to the class of graphs with no induced six-vertex path, thus proving a conjecture of Huang. Combined with previously known results this completes the classification of the complexity of the 4-coloring problem for...
متن کاملEvaluating the Effectiveness of Deductive and Inductive Form-Focused In-struction on Iranian EFL Learners' Implicit and Explicit Knowledge of Non-Generic Definite Article
This study investigated the relative effects of deductive and inductive form-focused instruction (FFI) on the acquisition of 4 non-generic definite article uses(cultural, situational, structural, and textual) as assessed by explicit and implicit outcome measures. The tests utilized to assess EFL learners' acquisition of definite article uses were timed and untimed grammaticality judgment tests....
متن کاملFrom Images to Sentences via Spatial Relations
This work presents a conceptual framework for representing, manipulating, measuring, and communicating in natural language several ideas about topological (non-metric) spatial locations, object spatial contexts, and user expectations of spatial relationships. It articulates a theory of spatial relations, how they can be represented as fuzzy predicates internally, and how they can be appropriate...

An abstract space has a name (e.g., Victoria Hospital) and aggregates one or more concrete spaces. There exists (and extensible) set of spatial relati...
متن کاملThe Implicit Cognitive Perspective in Acculturation
In this chapter, the conceptual basis for the use of the implicit cognition paradigm in the acculturation domain is discussed. In particular, it is argued that the process of acculturation occurs in conscious (explicit) modes, but also in non-conscious (implicit) modes. In addition, implicit cognitions derived from such non-conscious processes may play an important role in determining the accul...
